Purposes of Community Councils
The purposes of school community councils are to involve parents or guardians of students in decision making at the school level, improve the quality of education of students, prudently expend School LAND Trust Program money, and increase public awareness of school trust lands and related land policies, management of the State School Fund, and educational excellence. Utah Code § 53A-1a-108(2) (2014)
NSHS Community Council Election Information

Election Date: September 24th - 28th
North Sanpete High School will be holding Community Council elections to fill three parent representative positions. To make participation simple and accessible, the election will be conducted electronically this year. On Wednesday, September 24th, parents will receive an email containing a link to the electronic ballot. Voting will remain open through Sunday, September 28th.
We are grateful to the parents who indicated their interest in serving on the council during online school registration. Your involvement plays an important role in supporting our students and strengthening our school community. We encourage all parents to take part in this election and appreciate your ongoing support of North Sanpete High School.

As directed by the Board of Education and the State Legislature, each school is to have a School Community Council (SCC) made up of elected parents and/or guardians whose children attend the school. The SCC provides input on school improvement plans as well as various other school-related activities and concerns.

Community Council Elections
- The committee shall include one counselor, one administrator, two teachers, and up to six community members. Rotation up to three council members each year. Elected council members serve for two consecutive school years.
- Parents may express their interest in running for Community Council during the summer online registration window - July and August.
- Community Council voting will occur on five consecutive days in September of each school year. Results will be tabulated on the fifth day.
- Deadline for submitting votes: September 30th of each year. Rules and Order Procedure
